Having seen lots of posts and tweets about Whole Foods Market shops in the UK, we finally got round to visiting the Whole Foods Market store at Piccadilly Circus in London the other week. And all I can say is…
Wow! What a shop!
I had every intention of spending just a couple of quid… but that thought soon became dust as the basket was filled with those things that we normally only find online… organic raw honey, coconut sugar, organic coffee beans, etc, etc.!
The thing that rally struck us about the shop was the colour. There’s nothing like fresh fruit and vegetables well displayed… and boy were the displays good. These pictures don’t do it justice (I blame the low light levels, not my photographic skills!).
The store at Piccadilly Circus is split over 2 floors, with fresh produce, meat, fruit, veg, fish, and general supplies downstairs, and the seated area for in-store bought food upstairs along with the health and beauty section.
The hot food dishes available in the in-store buffet looked great, with some Paleo options also available. Prices were by weight, so it kind of bit us when we went for the heavy pulled pork option!
It’s also a shame we didn’t see the fresh nut butter machine before we’d already cleared out the wallet – as it would have been great to make some fresh cashew nut butter. I’d love to get one of these for the kitchen at home!
We’ll definitely be back to Whole Foods Market – even if it’s just to stock up on the Paleo essentials like coconut oil, cacao powder, raw honey, etc..
Oh, and the best thing – everyone shopping there looked so healthy!
There are several other locations around the UK – so there may be a store near you?
Let us know what you think of Whole Foods Market – or if there are any other shops like it that you would recommend.
